About the role

Dewberry is currently seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to work on a variety of water/wastewater related projects in our Raleigh, NC office.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on project experience
  • Develop technical skills
  • Engage in meaningful work on relevant projects
  • Participate in a series of workshops and events
  • Work alongside firm leaders on a summer-long group project

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering degree
  • Prior working experience with water or wastewater utilities is a plus
  • Working knowledge of GIS and AutoCAD is a plus
  • Experience in Microsoft office is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal skills

Qualifications

A housing stipend may be provided to eligible candidates.

Program Information

Summer Intern Program
During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee. Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including:

  • Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business.
  • Learning about our services, projects, and clients.
  • Professional development workshops, including a career planning workshop and a DiSC assessment to learn more about themselves and how to work effectively with others.
  • A summer-long group project where interns work alongside firm leaders to address issues that will impact our future strategy.
