About the role
Farnsworth Group is seeking a Water/Wastewater Process Engineer in Normal, IL, Peoria, IL, Champaign, IL, or St. Louis, MO.
Responsibilities
- Manage and design a variety of water and wastewater projects from planning through design, permitting, and construction
- Design water transmission and distribution systems
- Work directly with clients and a multi-disciplinary design team to manage projects
- Aid with business development activities and proposal preparation
- Conduct planning studies and reports for the evaluation of project alternatives and condition assessments
- Model for water and sanitary sewer systems
- Booster pump station and lift station design
- Involvement with regulatory strategies and negotiations with permitting
Requirements
- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Master’s degree preferred
- 8 - 15 years of Water/Wastewater Process Engineering experience
- Professional Engineer – PE License
- Passion for water and wastewater engineering
- Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills
- Understanding of chemistry and biology for treatment processes
- Team player who can manage and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with water and/or wastewater modeling software such as WaterCAD, InfoWater, EPANET, GPSx preferred
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Skills
- Proficient in water and wastewater engineering software
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance
- Excellent project management and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Pay
Salary Range: $91,000 - $149,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
