About the role

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Water/Wastewater Process Engineer in Normal, IL, Peoria, IL, Champaign, IL, or St. Louis, MO.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and design a variety of water and wastewater projects from planning through design, permitting, and construction
  • Design water transmission and distribution systems
  • Work directly with clients and a multi-disciplinary design team to manage projects
  • Aid with business development activities and proposal preparation
  • Conduct planning studies and reports for the evaluation of project alternatives and condition assessments
  • Model for water and sanitary sewer systems
  • Booster pump station and lift station design
  • Involvement with regulatory strategies and negotiations with permitting

Requirements

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Master’s degree preferred
  • 8 - 15 years of Water/Wastewater Process Engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer – PE License
  • Passion for water and wastewater engineering
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Understanding of chemistry and biology for treatment processes
  • Team player who can manage and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with water and/or wastewater modeling software such as WaterCAD, InfoWater, EPANET, GPSx preferred

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Skills

  • Proficiency in water and wastewater engineering software
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Pay

Salary Range: $91,000 - $149,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
