Water / Wastewater Engineer

About the role

This position is within HDR's Water Business Group, which focuses on shaping how communities manage water for generations to come. Projects could include water and wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with projects through planning, design, and construction phases
• Technical investigation and analysis of various detailed studies
• Prepare reports relating to water and wastewater treatment, distribution, and conveyance infrastructure and processes
• Support and advise project managers and technical staff in other disciplines
• Complete technical analysis, write reports and technical memos
• Coverage with sub-consultants, support senior staff to maintain project schedules and budgets
• Produce documents in accordance with project scopes and quality program procedures
• Engage in regular contact with clients regarding ongoing projects and tasks
• Manage and lead specific tasks under the direction of senior staff
• Occasional field construction observation and coordination may be required

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in water and wastewater evaluation, analysis, design, and construction
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
• Previous experience executing technical studies, analyses, and/or designing and creating plans and specifications for water focused projects
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Ability to make independent decisions and be accountable for the results
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task

Qualifications

• Preferred qualifications include a minimum of 3 years' experience executing technical studies, analyses, and/or designing and creating plans and specifications for water focused projects
• Local candidates are preferred
