Water/Wastewater Engineer
About the role
The Municipal Engineering Services - Water Resources Division at Barry Isett & Associates is seeking a full-time Civil or Environmental Engineer to join their Water Resources team. This position works within project- and client-focused teams and handles technical duties such as engineering design and analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure, engineering report preparation, federal, state, and local permitting preparation and coordination, grant/funding program coordination and compliance management, cost estimates preparation, production of specification and design drawings, project bidding phase management, construction phase management and observation, attending client meetings, and more.
Responsibilities
- Engineering design and analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure
- Engineering report preparation
- Federal, State, and local permitting preparation and coordination
- Grant/Funding program coordination and compliance management
- Cost estimates preparation of infrastructure projects
- Production of specification and design drawings
- Project bidding phase management
- Construction phase management and observation
- Attend client meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required; Master’s degree a plus.
- 2-8+ years of experience in the analysis/design of municipal water distribution system, wastewater collection and conveyance, and treatment systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) in PA is required and experience in the consulting engineering field is desired.
- Candidates should be proficient in technical writing, process solid marketing and communication skills, able to interact with teammates, staff, and clients, governmental officials, and have experience in the preparation and presentation of proposals.
- Thorough understanding of applicable government environmental and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, computer-aided Design (CAD) software, and other relevant analytical, scientific, or monitoring software.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
