About the role
This position operates, maintains, inspects, installs, and repairs water treatment and waste water treatment facilities and associated collection and distribution equipment, systems, and components.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, inspect, install, and repair water treatment and waste water treatment facilities and associated equipment.
- Maintain and operate water and wastewater treatment plants.
- Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operation and safety.
- Install and repair water and wastewater treatment plant equipment and systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep equipment in good working order.
- Handle emergency situations as they arise, ensuring the safety of employees and the public.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Valid driver's license.
Qualifications
- Experience in water and wastewater treatment operations.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Technical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems.
- Hands-on experience with water and wastewater treatment equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule
- Rotating schedule providing experience in both Maintenance and Operations.
- Maintenance Rotation: 5 weeks on a daytime schedule, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm.
- Operations Rotation: Rotating shifts 1 week: 7am - 3pm, 1 week: 3pm-11pm, 1 week: 11pm-7am.
- Some weekend work is required, with weekend shifts being 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday, with two 8-hour shifts during the week.
Pay
The starting hourly rate is $24.07. After hire, pay increases are dependent on length of service, advancement in the position, and other contractual factors.
