About the role
The Ellijay-Gilmer County W.S.A. is seeking to fill an operator position at their water treatment plant.
Responsibilities
- Operate water treatment plant equipment
- Monitor water quality and adjust as necessary
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Perform maintenance and repairs on plant equipment
- Work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Handle emergencies and perform overtime as needed
Requirements
- Valid Georgia driver's license
- Pass a pre-employment screening test including physical, drug screen, and background check
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in water treatment operations preferred
- Knowledge of water treatment processes and safety protocols
Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills
