Water Treatment Operator
About the role
The role involves overseeing daily operations of wastewater collection and purification systems, monitoring and analyzing wastewater quality, recommending technical upgrades, managing relationships with subcontractors, preparing operational reports, and supporting staff training.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of wastewater collection and purification systems
- Maintain compliance with environmental standards through regular sampling, testing, and data review
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency
- Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, including sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, and monitoring service delivery
- Prepare and maintain accurate operational reports and records
- Identify, investigate, and resolve process issues or non-compliance, and report concerns to management
- Support ongoing staff training related to process operation, safety, and compliance
- Participate in regular drills and safety checks, ensuring procedures are up-to-date
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical certification in wastewater treatment preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in water/wastewater operations or a related technical/process environment
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer literacy; experience with data entry and reporting systems a plus
- Effective communication skills; English proficiency preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Physical Requirements
- Routine lifting of up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to work in wet and outdoor environments
- Operate valves, pumps, and monitoring equipment as needed

Pay
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Schedule
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm
