Water Technician

About the role

The Water Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Lenexa, KS, responsible for responding to water-related emergencies in residential and commercial properties.

Responsibilities

• Assessing water damage
• Making and monitoring the setup of drying equipment
• Performing water extraction
• Assisting with cleanup and basic restoration activities
• Documenting conditions
• Communicating with customers and team members
• Following safety and regulatory guidelines
• Sometimes supporting mold, smoke, and fire mitigation projects, including boarding up structures and protecting unaffected areas

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of water damage, water treatment, and wastewater treatment principles and practices
• Hands-on experience or aptitude in equipment maintenance, including setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting of mitigation tools
• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and supervisors, including clear documentation of work performed
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting equipment, working in confined spaces, and operating in wet or damaged environments
• Commitment to safety protocols and adherence to company procedures and industry standards
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies outside standard hours
• Previous experience in mitigation, restoration, construction, or a related field is beneficial; industry certifications (e.g., IICRC) are a plus
• A high school diploma or equivalent; ongoing willingness to train and obtain additional certifications relevant to water and mold mitigation
