About the Role

This is an entry-level position where you will develop the skills and abilities to perform responsibilities with supervision or instruction. Upon obtaining the necessary skills and experience, you will have the opportunity to advance to Water Spider #1.

Responsibilities

  • Supply production with required materials grouped according to production orders to enhance productivity and maintain product flow.
  • Maintain “5S” organization of materials within the department.
  • Deliver materials to specified areas, perform cycle counts, and operate the LeanLift.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  • Read and understand production orders, blueprints, and routings to group materials for production.
  • Use SAP on a PC to access and manage production data.
  • Operate forklifts, electric hoists, and other power equipment to load, unload, and move materials.
  • Kit stock orders, cables, and materials for assembly across departments.
  • Pull and put away parts in various departments.
  • Maintain safe operating practices at all times.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate mechanical equipment (e.g., LeanLift), personal computers, and read production orders, routings, and blueprints.
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, bend frequently, and push, pull, or lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Sufficient reading and writing skills to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts.
  • Manual dexterity to operate equipment properly.
  • Successfully pass forklift certification training provided by Gleason or an approved outside source.
