About the role

The Water Spider performs tasks necessary to support the production process, including aiding in the fabrication, inspection, and packaging of component parts and products.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand pick sheets to pull parts for assembly.
• Gather and check quality of parts, equipment, and assembled product at every step in the assembly process; notify supervisor of faulty equipment or defective materials.
• Unload brazed units to conveyor for welders and send parts to assembly to prepare units for shipment by constructing skids and boxes as required.
• Cut surge tube, change blades, paint, stencil, and affix nameplates as required.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of tools, equipment, and work area.
• Comply with all ISO 9001 Quality standards, policies, and procedures of API.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and functional knowledge of hand tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and use a tape measure.
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods.
• Ability to navigate computer systems used to manage and track orders (Plex).
• Meet required Quality and Productivity standards for the position.

Physical Requirements

• Standing: Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift).
• Walking: Frequent walking throughout the production floor.
• Lifting and Carrying: Regularly lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds; occasionally lift heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment.
• Pushing and Pulling: Use manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials.
• Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging).
• Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and ability to handle small parts or tools.
• Climbing: Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas.
• Visual and Hearing Requirements: Sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges; adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
• Environmental Tolerance: Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions), exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals; use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Schedule

1st shift (5:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.)

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $19.00+ based on experience.
