Water/Sewer Operator

Job Summary

City of David City, NE is seeking a full-time Water/Wastewater Operator. Required skills include record keeping, computer proficiency, mechanical aptitude, and a valid Nebraska driver's license. Certification in water and wastewater within eighteen months of employment is mandatory. Duties include operating, testing, repairing, and maintaining municipal water and wastewater systems and facilities, snow removal, laboratory testing, light construction, equipment operation, general labor, and occasional heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Operate, test, repair, and maintain municipal water and wastewater systems and facilities
• Perform laboratory process control testing
• Engage in light construction work
• Operate various pieces of equipment
• Perform general labor tasks
• Lift occasionally over 100 lbs
• Occasional unscheduled hours due to emergencies
• Required to be on call in a rotating schedule

• Must reside within a 15-mile radius of city limits within 6 months
• Wage based on experience; benefits package included
