About the role
Assemble a variety of curtain styles according to established quality and timeliness standards. May perform pre-assembly responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Sewing experience with a 1-needle industrial machine
- Read orders, cut tubes, gather components, and then pack
- Working with machines, knowledge of measurements, basic manual work, and tools
- Willingness to train in other assembly positions
- Availability to work overtime
- Cut fabric and/or rod, or sew fabric, or pick up components
- Handle fabric when cutting it to length and/or drilling holes; or weigh fabric and enter data into a computer
- Pick up curtain from rack/table/cart according to established prioritization standards
- Perform initial assembly of the curtain so it can be hung, inspected, and adjusted
- Hang the curtain and perform initial inspection to ensure components/tools are in place, and the motor and clutch are properly adjusted (if applicable)
- Make any necessary adjustments and inspect again
- Carry out the entire assembly process including any decoration and/or tool
- Test the curtain through visual, quality, and functionality inspection (make sure it hangs straight, works well, has no damage, etc.)
- Interact with quality specialists to ensure standards are met
- Prepare the curtain for packing and shipping by placing it in plastic and/or in a box
- Work with Engineering to test new products/designs
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow established procedures to keep the work area clean and well-organized
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment and tools
- Interact with maintenance personnel regarding equipment and tool repairs and new developments
- Follow established safety policies and procedures
- Attend safety meetings
- Attend meetings/talks to promote open communication
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Sewing experience with a 1-needle industrial machine
- 3 months of manufacturing experience

Pay
$15.00 per hour
Schedule
First shift: 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Availability to work overtime.
