We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business. DuBois Chemicals seeks an experienced Water Safety Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain water safety policies, procedures, checklists, and emergency response protocols.
  • Conduct regular cooling towers, wastewater, equipment, signage, chemical storage areas, and related workspaces to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Cook up and deliver water safety, emergency response, personal protective equipment, and incident prevention training.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable safety standards, organize inspections, trainings, certifications, incidents, corrective actions, and safety performance metrics.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, injuries, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and support corrective action plans.
  • Serve as a resource on water safety practices, hazard identification, and risk reduction strategies.
  • Coordinate emergency drills and support readiness for water-related emergencies, severe weather, equipment failures, and evacuation scenarios.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, facilities, human resources, and leadership teams to improve safety practices and reduce risk.
  • Stay current on water safety trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
  • Regular travel to customer manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution centers, and industrial facilities.

Requirements

  • Able to safely walk throughout large manufacturing and warehouse environments for extended periods, including navigating uneven surfaces, stairs, catwalks, and production areas.
  • Able to enter active production environments and maintain awareness of moving equipment, forklifts, overhead hazards, and other industrial conditions.
  • Must comply with all customer and company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements, including the proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain the mobility and physical capability necessary to perform site inspections, customer walkthroughs, and product demonstrations in a safe manner.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in water safety, workplace safety, water operations, environmental health and safety, or a related field preferred.
  • Water safety, OSHA, or related safety certification preferred.
  • Exposure to working in industrial environments is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and internal partners within the organization.
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to safely handle water treatment chemicals, testing reagents, and field service equipment in accordance with company and customer safety requirements.
  • Experience with industrial water treatment programs, including boilers, cooling towers, closed loops, wastewater, or process water systems.
  • Knowledge of water testing methods, field instrumentation, chemical feed systems, pumps, controllers, and related service equipment.
  • Ability to interpret water sample results, identify trends or non-conformances, and recommend corrective action.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to accurately document service activity, test results, and customer communications.
  • Working knowledge of hazard identification, incident reporting, emergency response planning, and safety training practices.
  • Strong communication, documentation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and influence safe behaviors across teams.
