About the role
As a Mitigation Technician, you will play a crucial role in restoring properties affected by fire, water, and other emergencies. Your responsibilities will include handling the mitigation and restoration process, making a significant impact on the lives of our clients during challenging times.
Responsibilities
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency calls. Evaluate the severity of damage and determine the necessary resources and equipment.
- Damage Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of damaged properties, noting structural and content impact. Document damage through photos, diagrams, and written descriptions.
- Mitigation Services: Perform water extraction, drying, and dehumidification services following industry standards. Execute fire damage mitigation, including soot and smoke removal. Apply anti-microbial treatments.
- Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with customers, explaining the mitigation and restoration process. Address customer concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Documentation And Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all restoration projects, including time logs, expense reports, and customer communication. Report project progress to Emergency Services Project Manager.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance and handling of restoration equipment and tools. Report any equipment malfunction or need for repairs to the supervisor.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company and OSHA safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Participate in safety training sessions and stay updated on industry safety standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in the restoration industry preferred.
- IICRC certification in water, fire, and mold restoration is a plus.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of construction and repair techniques.
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work on-call for emergency services.
Working Conditions
- This role requires both indoor and outdoor work, often in varied weather conditions.
- Must be available to work on-call and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, and noise is common.
