Water Restoration/Mitigation Technician

Primary responsibilities

  • Complete jobs according to SERVPRO processes per work order, performing production work and completing job documentation.
  • Perform and evaluate mitigation/restoration activities including water extraction, fire damage cleanup, set-up of specialty equipment, and demolition.
  • Set up and monitor drying equipment and document moisture readings and daily progress.
  • Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and supplies for each project.
  • Prepare rooms and areas for work activities; set up staging areas and equipment for each project.
  • Effectively communicate safety hazards, jobsite findings, and equipment/tool requirements to supervisors.
  • Communicate with management and other technicians to maintain efficient production processes.
  • Work as a team to provide quality and efficient work and perform production processes as directed.
  • Perform end-of-day and end-of-job cleanup and breakdown, leaving the jobsite clean and orderly.
  • Resolve problems quickly as they arise.
  • Follow and enforce all safety procedures on the job site.
  • Learn and develop mitigation/restoration skills to elevate the SERVPRO brand and grow within the company.
  • Clean and maintain vehicles, equipment, warehouse, and office areas.

Position requirements

  • A high school diploma/GED is required.
  • Experience in cleaning/restoration is preferred.
  • IICRC certifications and/or previous fire/water/mold property restoration experience are preferred.
  • Docusketch experience is preferred.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are required.
  • A valid driver's license, approved by our insurance company, is preferred.
  • The ability to travel locally or out of state when necessary is required.
  • Availability for weekend and after-hours on-call rotation is required.
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the United States and ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law is required.

Physical demands

  • Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Repetitive pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying of objects throughout the day.
  • Walking and standing for long periods, as well as driving, sitting, and climbing.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at ceiling heights.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces under buildings and attics).
  • Exposure to chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme conditions such as heat, cold, and noxious odors.
  • Required to occasionally wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform demanding tasks throughout the day.

Job Type

  • Full-Time, up to 40 hours per week.
  • On-Call

Pay

  • $18-$22 / hour, pending experience.
