Essential functions and responsibilities
- Cook up a strategic growth plan with office managers and practice leaders
- Build and expand your territory through marketing and business development
- Manage the department's financial budget and allocate resources
- Contribute to proposal writing and serve as a technical expert
- Identify and staff resources needed for the section
- Conduct interviews and hire new staff
- Conduct performance reviews for staff based on project manager feedback
- Lead and manage the team by setting expectations, goals, providing feedback, conducting 1:1 meetings, and offering coaching

- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited program
- Professional Engineer license or equivalent
- 10+ years’ experience in specialized discipline
- Project management and business development experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in Bentley ORD and Autodesk Civil 3D
- Proficiency in ICPR, SWMM, and HED-RAS modeling software
- Proficiency in ArcGIS
- Experience working with local clients at the county and state level
- Strong communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
Qualifications Preferred
- Supervisory experience
- ENV SP certification
- Experience with stream restoration projects
- Experience with water quality projects
Working Conditions
- Work is performed within a general office environment
- Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking
- Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment
