About the role
Our client is a national environmental consulting and ecological restoration firm that partners with public agencies, private developers, utilities, and infrastructure organizations to restore and protect natural resources. Their work focuses on stream and wetland restoration, water resource engineering, habitat improvement, stormwater management, and environmental mitigation projects.
Responsibilities
The role involves leading engineering projects, managing engineering teams, and mentoring technical staff. The ideal candidate will have experience with stream restoration, wetland restoration, stormwater management, or water resources, and will be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Approximately 15 or more years of progressive engineering experience.
- Extensive experience leading engineering projects involving stream restoration, wetland restoration, stormwater management, or water resources.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles, hydrology, hydraulics, and environmental regulations.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing technical documents and performing quality assurance/quality control.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and mentoring technical staff.
- Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience within an environmental consulting firm.
- Experience supporting transportation, utility, municipal, or infrastructure projects.
- Existing relationships with regulatory agencies and public-sector clients within Virginia or neighboring states.
- Experience contributing to business development, proposal preparation, and project pursuits.
- Familiarity with restoration construction methods and field implementation.

Pay
Salary: $140,000 - $185,000 per year
