About the Role
Ardaman is seeking a Water Resources Engineer for a full-time position in our Orlando, FL office. We are specifically looking for a candidate who specializes in water numerical modeling, including surface water, groundwater, and water quality. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of water resources engineering projects within a challenging and collaborative team environment, supporting large and medium-scale H&H engineering projects.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform technical work on a variety of water resources engineering projects
- Develop, apply, and evaluate water numerical models for surface water and water quality analyses
- Contribute to large and medium-scale H&H engineering projects
- Perform watershed studies, stormwater analyses and retrofits, drainage design, permitting, and related tasks
- Work independently while contributing effectively in a team-based environment
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering with a Master's degree in Water Resources Engineering
- Strong technical skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of non-academic experience after graduation working on water resources engineering projects under the supervision of a professional engineer
- Experience completing watershed studies, stormwater analyses and retrofits, drainage design, permitting, and related work
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD, ICPR 4/Stormwise, HEC-RAS, or equivalent software
- Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) license
- Familiarity with ArcHydro, GWIS, SWMM, MIKE SHE, PONDS, HEC-HMS, Modret, HY-8, StormCAD, WaterCAD, CulvertMaster, and FlowMaster
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods, with frequent computer use and verbal communication
Work Environment
- Office based work environment with occasional field work
- In-office presence is required Monday through Friday during posted business hours
- Occasional extended hours and weekends may be required to meet business needs
