A Day in the Life
- You’ll lead the technical design and plan development for stream and wetland restoration and stormwater management projects
- Your day may include reviewing survey data, developing HEC-RAS or TR-55 models, creating grading plans in Civil 3D, or coordinating with permitting specialists and PMs
- You’ll work with junior engineers to produce high-quality plan sets, run QA/QC reviews, and communicate with clients and agencies to support approval processes
- In the field, you’ll perform site assessments and support QA/QC during construction to ensure plans are implemented as designed
- Whether it’s creating concept plans or overseeing agency submittals, your work will help deliver real restoration on the ground
What will make you stand out?
- A Master’s degree in civil, environmental, or ecological engineering
- Successfully navigated multiple permitting processes across state, federal, and local agencies
- Ability to mentor and guide junior engineering staff in design and plan production
- Previous experience with Water Volumetric Accounting
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or ecological engineering
- PE license in the appropriate state
- 5+ years of professional experience in restoration, stormwater, or site development
- Advanced capability in stream, wetland, or stormwater management design, including feasibility studies, concept design, and restoration plans development
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and relevant modeling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS, FlowMaster, TR-55, GIS, MicroStation)
- Strong understanding of stream geomorphology, hydraulics, sediment transport, and/or stormwater BMP design
- Ability to communicate directly with clients and regulatory agencies
- Comfort leading design work with minimal oversight and supporting QA/QC in the field
- Experience coordinating work within multi-disciplinary teams
