Water Pollution Control Collection System Operator

About the role

The City of Hermitage is seeking a Collection System Operator in the Water Pollution Control Department. This position monitors control panels and adjusts valves, operates auxiliary apparatus connected with the collection system and pump stations, operates high pressure water cleaning equipment, diagnoses problems with machinery, equipment or collection facilities, maintains machines and equipment, installs new or repaired parts, cleans and lubricates parts of machinery, pumps and pump power units and maintains logs of operations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree, minimum three years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of wastewater treatment operations and equipment maintenance
• Valid PA driver's license – CDL, Class B
• PA DEP Class E, Subclassification wastewater collection license or ability to obtain within one year (city will assist with obtaining this license)
