About the role
The Water Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing any operation, construction, and maintenance of water systems, meters, and/or water lines. Competitive pay of $15.05/hr is offered along with great benefits and perks.
Responsibilities
- Responding to customer complaints
- Transporting sludge
- Assisting other crews
- Performing equipment and vehicle maintenance and repair
- Maintaining grounds and landscaping
- Assisting with traffic control direction, setting up traffic signs, cones, and utilizing flags to manually direct traffic
- Maintaining facility's landscape and overall structure
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalency
- B or A Certification in Surface Water or B Water Distribution License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
- One (1) year of water line maintenance and repair
- Current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety
- Achieve Class "B" CDL from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record with a tank endorsement within (1) first year of employment
- Achieve TCEQ Class "D" Water Distribution License within (1) first year of employment
- Achieve TCEQ Class "C" Water Distribution License within (3) three years of employment
Qualifications
- Hands-on work preference
- Excellent knowledge of sanitary sewer collection system infrastructure
- Proficiency in power tools
- Teamwork experience
