Water Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Water Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing any operation, construction, and maintenance of water systems, meters, and/or water lines. Competitive pay of $15.05/hr is offered along with great benefits and perks.

Responsibilities

• Responding to customer complaints
• Transporting sludge
• Assisting other crews
• Performing equipment and vehicle maintenance and repair
• Maintaining grounds and landscaping
• Assisting with traffic control direction, setting up traffic signs, cones, and utilizing flags to manually direct traffic
• Maintaining facility's landscape and overall structure

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalency
• B or A Certification in Surface Water or B Water Distribution License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
• One (1) year of water line maintenance and repair
• Current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety
• Achieve Class "B" CDL from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record with a tank endorsement within (1) first year of employment
• Achieve TCEQ Class "D" Water Distribution License within (1) first year of employment
• Achieve TCEQ Class "C" Water Distribution License within (3) three years of employment

Qualifications

• Hands-on work preference
• Excellent knowledge of sanitary sewer collection system infrastructure
• Proficiency in power tools
