Water Damage Remediation Technician

About the role

1-800 Water Damage is seeking self-motivated Water Damage Technicians to join our growing team full-time. We are looking for team-oriented, dependable, and reliable individuals who can perform inspections and complete tasks for water restoration jobs, including demolition, drying, building containments, and various restoration activities.

Schedule

The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with some overtime and weekends required. On-call night and weekend shifts may also be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded on the truck for fast response to emergency water/fire damage claims and other restoration-related activities.
• Complete assigned inspections according to company processes.
• Perform water mitigation, including water extraction, pack-out of contents, removing/disposing of non-salvageable materials, and light construction and demolition as directed.
• Ensure equipment, supplies, vehicles, tools, and products are properly handled.
• Set up and operate equipment such as dehumidifiers, air movers, and air scrubbers.
• Perform daily monitoring and tasks on assigned water jobs.
• Communicate customer issues and daily job activities with supervisors, leads, and key company staff.
• Prepare documentation and photos according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies.
• Perform field restoration activities, including demolition (removal of drywall, insulation, carpet, etc.), cleaning, emergency flood service, restorative drying, fire and smoke damage cleaning and deodorization, content cleaning, pack-out and storage, and other specialized cleaning.
• Inspect jobs after completion and obtain customer signatures for approval.
• Use company software to update or review job information, thoroughly document all work completed, take photos, and properly document all work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Water damage experience required; experience in the restoration or construction industry is preferred.
• Capable of lifting up to 50-60 lbs. by lifting, pushing, and/or pulling.
• Experience using mobile software to enter data.
• IICRC Certification in Water Damage Restoration is preferred but not required.
• Bilingual is preferred but not required.

Pay

Hourly rate: $18 - $22, depending on experience. Overtime hours are available.
