Salary range: $70,690 – $118,100 annually. The base salary reflects a good-faith range; actual compensation will be set based on market, geography, skills, education, and experience. This role is eligible for annual incentive pay and continued salary growth.
About the role
As the Superintendent, Operations, you will direct the day-to-day management, development, and operations of the Company’s water and/or wastewater facilities and personnel.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning regional construction, operations, and maintenance within established budget limitations.
- Lead the implementation of standards, targets, policies, and plans to ensure increasing operational efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability.
- Ensure operational integrity (quality, environment, reliability, health, safety, security, etc.) is maintained.
- Control materials through economical and efficient programs that meet cost-effective solutions, customer expectations, and technical requirements while encouraging best practices and innovation.
- Establish and manage relationships with political, civic, and key stakeholders; interface with regulatory entities and represent company positions at regulatory proceedings and hearings.
- Execute effective reporting processes and provide analysis and support for various reports, budgets, and business plans.
- Implement and foster employee coaching and development, including idea generation, within respective functional areas.
- Support Business Development in operational analysis, pricing, and integration of water and wastewater opportunities in regulated and non-regulated markets.
- Support the development and implementation of effective people-management policies (e.g., time and attendance, workforce management) and ensure resources are deployed appropriately.
- Reinforce the importance of a diverse workforce and collaborate with other functional leads to mitigate business risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an operational discipline, management, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Three years of experience managing operational areas, operating units, and meeting performance targets.
- NJDEP Water Treatment T3 and W2 licenses required; T2 and W1 licenses may be considered.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Local and regional travel required.

- Knowledge of the regulated water/wastewater business within the region and the regulations impacting it.
- Familiarity with company policies and procedures, management theories, practices, and trends.
- Expert knowledge of process and operational areas.

Schedule
- Full-time, on-site.
- Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM.
- On-call responsibility.
