Watch Technician

About The Role

The Watch Technician’s key areas of responsibility include the authentication, diagnostics, and repair of quartz. This position will authenticate and service watches within our e-commerce centers and communicate across multiple internal teams to execute a seamless consignor experience and a frictionless production pipeline.

What You Get To Do Everyday

• Identify all quartz watches (watch brand, watch model, movement brand, movement model)
• Open and close all types of watch cases without damaging them
• Diagnose quartz movement issues
• Change batteries and gaskets
• Replace coils/circuits in quartz movements
• Replace complete quartz movements
• Calibrate chronograph and other complication indicators to original factory settings in quartz watches
• Perform pressure test on all watch types
• Perform timing measurements on all watch types
• Demagnetize all watch types
• Clean external components of all non-leather-strap watches (case, crystal, bracelet) using appropriate method, including ultrasonic solution/machine and steamer
• Perform any additional daily tasks as directed by supervisor

What You Bring To The Role

• Minimum Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience servicing quartz timepieces
• Excellent hand-eye coordination
• Perfect vision (natural or corrected)
• Able to execute on communication systems
• Adept at working with, and open to learning new technology solutions to increase productivity and efficiency
• Polished in verbal and written communication
• Able to handle multiple complex, time sensitive situations
• Understanding of daily quotas, deadlines
• Able to work within specific process constraints
• Preferred Requirements:
• Brand certification from major watch brand
• Disassembling and overhauling mechanical/automatic movements
• Powdering cases and bracelets

Pay

The expected hourly rate for this role is $25.00-$25.00. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
