About the role
Marketing Statement Harlem Hospital Center has been a bedrock of the Harlem community since 1887. The hospital provides a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic and family support services to the residents of Central Harlem, West Harlem, Washington Heights and Inwood. Harlem is the largest hospital in the area, capable of treating the most seriously ill. Harlem provides over 90 specialized ambulatory care services, dentistry and oral surgery, behavioral health services, and community substance abuse treatment. Responsibilities
- Conducts periodic tours of buildings and grounds to inspect doors, windows, gates, locks and equipment.
- Monitors for unauthorized entry, fire hazards, leaks from water or steam lines, and other conditions which might result in property damage or loss.
- Maintains order by preventing trespassing and discouraging loitering.
- Responds to incoming telephone calls and doorbells.
- Operates elevators during emergency situations.
- May operate heating equipment as required.
Qualifications
- Valid New York State Security Guard registration card issued by the Department of State.
- Satisfactory completion of a 16-hour On-the-Job Training (OJT) course within ninety (90) days of employment.
- Employees in this title are required to complete an 8-hour in-service training course within one (1) calendar year of completion of the 16-hour OJT course, and annually thereafter.
