Watch Operations Engineer
Position Summary
This position is a union position classified as Watch Operating Engineer under an agreement with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 70 AFL-CIO. This role operates and maintains all equipment in the power plant, including but not limited to boilers, chillers, emergency power generators, air compressors, vacuum pumps and building automation equipment. This position also includes keeping accurate logs, performing water testing, and performing preventive maintenance and repairs on the above-mentioned systems and other equipment. Cleans and paints the plant and equipment as required.
Qualifications
- Prior stationary power plant experience required, hospital experience preferred.
- Minimum of a Minnesota 1st Class Grade C Engineer’s license, preferably with two-plus years’ experience under that license.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Must have good command of the English language, both written and oral.
- Can accept a Minnesota Class 2C or higher Stationary Engineer's license to train, and to operate provisionally if a 1C license is obtained within the maximum 270 probationary period.

Schedule
FTE 1.0, 40 hours per week, night shift, schedule follows a "7-2-3-2" rotating schedule. Seven days on, two days off, three days on, two days off.
