Wastewater Technician I,II,III & IV

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing work areas and securing job sites by setting up traffic control devices.
• Prepares tools, materials, and equipment necessary for various job assignments.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and tools by cleaning and servicing regularly.
• Assists in performing operations such as sewer line location, repairing and/or installing sewer mains, lateral lines, and manholes.
• Assists in mowing and maintaining sewer easements and assists combo/flushing truck operators with jetting sewer lines.
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements

Must possess a valid Class A commercial driver's license or the ability to obtain within twelve (12) months of employment. Previous experience and/or training involving wastewater construction, maintenance and repair type work, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by previous experience and/or training involving wastewater construction, maintenance and repair type work, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Texas Class C driver's license.
• Pass a drug screen, driving record check, and background check.
• Obtain the National Incident Merit System (NIMS) certificate IS-100 and IS-700 within 6 months of employment.

• Ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions.

• Wastewater Technician I: $42,431.01 - $ 61,526.40 /Annually $20.39 - 29.58/Hourly
• Wastewater Technician II: $ 44,977.43 - $ 65,218.80 /Annually $21.62 - 31.35/Hourly
• Wastewater Technician III: $47,676.50 - $ 69,132.54 /Annually $22.92 - 33.23/Hourly
• Wastewater Technician IV: $50,537.36 - $ 73,280.88 /Annually $24.29 - 35.23/Hourly

Schedule

During storms or natural disasters, staff may be divided into two 12-hour shifts and may be called in while on vacation.

Physical Demands

Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds); may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 150 pounds).

Conditions of Employment

• During storms or natural disasters, staff will be divided into two 12-hour shifts.
