Job Title: Wastewater Technician Classification: Non-Exempt Department: Environmental, Health & Safety Reports to: WW Foreman Position: Night Shift Position Summary: The Wastewater Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining various wastewater systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations while monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting equipment and processes that treat and manage wastewater in compliance with environmental regulations and facility standards. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for the Wastewater Treatment Building and Outside SystemResponsible for monitoring chemicals and replenishing when neededMonitor water quality compliance from EP Wastewater Discharge, Wastewater treatment building and Outside wastewater systemCollect data on Systems and perform specific checksInvestigate all issues and determine root cause of failurePerform periodic replacements of pumps, sensors and plumbing as neededReport findings to Foreman, Engineering Tech and Engineer when necessaryProvide detailed pass downs to the incoming shift via email and verbally. Maintaining inventory of spare parts for the department to perform accurate repairsMaintain good safe working practicesOrganize and maintain work areas for a good 5SPerform all duties necessary in creating an efficient, effective, and affordable Wastewater departmentWill perform other functions as required Skills & Competencies: Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipmentTroubleshootingCritical ThinkingEquipment SelectionAbility to read and comprehend basic EnglishAbility to follow instructions Previous Crane Experience Previous Forklift Experience Ability to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to read and comprehend basic English Education and Experience: 1 Year Industrial Maintenance experienceMinimum of 1-year experience in Wastewater systems (Preferred)High School Diploma or GED required2-year college degree (preferred) Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Requires constant physical activity throughout shift such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Flexible work schedule as needed with adequate notification. Always maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment.
