Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean shakers and tumblers by spraying a high-pressure hose (240 psi) on the shaker every 15 minutes and the tumbler once an hour.
- Perform minor preventative maintenance and equipment lubrication by checking oil levels and belts as needed.
- Transfer blood onto tankers by taking a 6' hose 4" in diameter and placing it into blood tank, open wheel valve and visually monitor levels.
- Cover loads prior to removal from work area.
- Obtain ladder and by turning crank clockwise to extend canvas cover.
- Notify drivers by phone when bi-product loads are full and need to be removed.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- Ability to move within OFFAL area, up and down steps and work in a wet environment.
- May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 dB to 110 db.
- May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
- You must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
- Absolutely no exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
- Able to stand for several hours.
- Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
