Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and manage the construction of water and wastewater treatment, collection, distribution, storage, and pumping systems.
  • Work on projects with local and regional municipal clients to solve complex water and wastewater challenges, including design, permitting, and construction of municipal utility projects.
  • Conduct field investigations, prepare engineering reports, handle project permitting, develop cost estimates, and create and review design plans and technical specifications.
  • Provide field representation and office assistance throughout construction.
  • Design and project-manage multiple projects simultaneously, including:
    • Transmission pipelines
    • Water and reclaimed water distribution
    • Storage systems
    • Wastewater collection systems
    • Pump stations
    • Water/wastewater treatment facility and process upgrades
    • Rehabilitation projects
    • Utility relocations
    • Solid waste transfer stations
    • Other environmental engineering projects

Requirements

  • 3–10+ years of water/wastewater design, permitting, and construction experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or on track to obtain it.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, local, and industry laws, regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling software such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, WaterGEMS, or SewerGEMs.

Pay

$90,000 – $140,000 per year
