Waste Operations Technical Support

About the role

The Waste Operations Technical Support position plays a crucial role in supporting the Waste Operations organization. This includes overseeing subcontractor projects and task releases, providing technical support, and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary interface between the Waste Management Services subcontractor and the Waste Operations team.
• Provides technical support and oversight during the execution of subcontract work.
• Ensures that all task releases are properly scoped and communicated.
• Reviews and approves technical proposals and estimates.
• Coordinates with subcontract administrators and the STR to close out task releases.
• Maintains a field presence to ensure work is performed safely and according to approved documents and schedules.
• Oversees the subcontractor's maintenance program and participates in weekly issue meetings.
• Performs maintenance oversight and reviews subcontractor submittals for compliance with technical requirements.
• Completes additional assignments as directed by the Waste Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 1 year of relevant experience, or PhD.
• Experience performing oversight of light construction projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with RCRA, TSCA, DOE 435.1, DOT, and related Tennessee requirements.
• Working knowledge of waste management processes.
