Waste Handler

Overview

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Full-time, Night Shift Waste Handler to support the Environmental Services Department in Norfolk, VA.

Hours/Shift

Full-Time, Night Shift working Monday through Friday from 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., and work every other weekend and every other major holiday.

Responsible for

• Transporting all types of waste, including RMW (Regulated Medical Waste), Recycled, Solid and Sharps and Chemo, as assigned
• PRACTICING SAFE WORK HABITS THROUGH THE APPROPRIATE USE OF VARIOUS DEDICATED WASTE CONTAINERS
• FOLLOWING PROCEDURES FOR TRANSPORTING WASTE PER DEPARTMENTAL GUIDELINES
• ADHERING TO ALL REGULATORY STANDARDS FOR WASTE COLLECTION AND TRANSPORT

Experience

1 year of housekeeping/ESD experience required in lieu of High School Education.

High School Grad or Equivalent (Preferred)

Requirements

1 year of housekeeping/ESD experience in lieu of High School Education (Required)

Previous Waste Handler/Bio Hazard Waste Experience (Preferred)
