WASTE HANDLER
About the role
As a Waste Handler at Mohawk Industries, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. Mohawk is a Fortune 500, global flooring leader with well-known brands, offering opportunities for growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Keep waste buggies emptied and maintain a clean floor using a broom or blower.
- Perform various housekeeping tasks, including operating the tipper machine and keeping the area around the tipper motor free from trash and debris.
- Use care to avoid injury to self and others.
- Follow all company policies, safety rules, and regulations.
- Operate a Genie boom and lift truck.
- Clean grounds outside the building.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisors or management.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be willing and able to work a 12-hour night shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Have or ability to obtain Lift Truck Certification.
- Must be able to work in a dusty/dirty environment.
- Good reading comprehension skills.
- Must follow all manufacturing safety rules and regulations, including attendance policies.
- Expected to maintain all housekeeping procedures and follow safety regulations associated with the position.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned by management.
