Washington Heights Special Education Paraprofessionals

The West Shore School District is seeking Full-time Paraprofessional positions at Washington Heights Elementary School.

Personal Care Paraprofessional

• Assist with personal care needs of students
• Support classroom activities under supervision

The state requires all Instructional Assistants working with students in special education to have a minimum of 48 or more undergraduate credits or a Credential of Competency.

To obtain the Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators in Pennsylvania, follow these steps:

1. Complete the free trainings provided by PATTAN
2. Download the Credential of Competency Checklist from the provided link
3. Verify your competence in each of the standards outlined in the Checklist
4. Submit the Checklist to the Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education for review and approval
5. Upon approval, you will be issued a Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators in Pennsylvania
