About the role

The Washington and Regulatory Research Associate Analyst (AA) plays a crucial role in analyzing regulatory, legal, and policy decisions affecting markets and stocks. This position involves working closely with Research Analysts and Portfolio Managers to integrate public policy analysis into the investment process. The AA will conduct in-depth thematic research, write and publish internal research, and engage in stakeholder management to ensure the investment team has timely, relevant information.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting analysis of regulatory, legal, and policy decisions at various levels of the US government
  • Writing and publishing internal research
  • Holding internal presentations of key findings
  • Collaborating with Research Analysts and Portfolio Managers to produce cross-sector research
  • Contributing to projects with Legislative and Regulatory Affairs, Risk, ESG, and Corporate Governance teams
  • Facilitating meetings with subject matter experts and policy contacts
  • Traveling to meet with and interview subject-matter experts, policy contacts, and officials
  • Providing investment insight and impacting the investment process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with a strong academic record
  • 1+ years relevant equity research, investment banking, or other relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth thematic research
  • Rigorous academic background with intellectual curiosity and talent for learning new concepts
  • Completion of at least Level 1 of the CFA preferred
  • Highly motivated, confident self-starter with the ability to work independently and with others
  • Interest in equity investing; background and/or strong interest in finance preferred
  • Effective communications skills (verbal and written)

Preferred

  • FINRA Requirements not required and will not be supported for this role
  • Work Flexibility - eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home

Base Salary Ranges

  • MD, CO, WA, and remote workers: $110,000.00-$140,000.00
  • DC: $110,000.00-$140,000.00
  • NY, CA: $110,000.00-$140,000.00
