Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, mentor, and develop a team of LiPo4 Battery Repair Technicians.

  • Establish performance expectations, productivity goals, and quality standards.

  • Create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety.

  • Oversee the diagnosis, repair, refurbishment, and testing of returned lithium battery systems.

  • Troubleshoot complex battery, BMS, charger, communication, and electrical system issues.

  • Aid technicians with advanced diagnostics and escalated repair cases.

  • Ensure all repaired products meet company quality and safety standards before being returned to customers.

  • Analyze battery failures and identify root causes of recurring issues.

  • Document findings and communicate recommendations to Engineering, Product Development, and Quality teams.

  • Track failure trends and work cross-functionally to implement corrective and preventative actions.

  • Develop repair procedures and testing methods to improve repair effectiveness and product reliability.

  • Develop and maintain repair standards, work instructions, and testing procedures.

  • Maintain adequate stock levels of repair parts and oversee repair equipment, testing tools, and diagnostic systems.

  • Manage inventory and coordinate with Purchasing and Warehouse teams to ensure parts availability and minimize downtime.

  • Track and report key department metrics including: Repair turnaround time, First-pass repair success rate, Technician productivity, Warranty cost reduction, Failure trends and root causes, and Repair department throughput.

  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, Electronics, Automotive Technology, Electrical Systems, or related field preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in battery repair, electronics repair, automotive diagnostics, or related technical fields. 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.

  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of lithium battery construction, operation, and safety. Knowledge of Battery Management Systems (BMS), electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting techniques. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation. Experience using multimeters, battery analyzers, and diagnostic equipment. Understanding of root cause analysis methodologies and quality systems.

  • Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership and team development skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Ability to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
