Battery Repair/Warranty Manager
Eco Battery is seeking an experienced and technically skilled Battery Repair/Warranty Manager to lead our battery diagnostics and repair operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the repair department, managing a team of battery repair technicians, improving repair processes, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Lead, train, mentor, and develop a team of LiPo4 Battery Repair Technicians.
- Establish performance expectations, productivity goals, and quality standards.
- Create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety.
- Oversee the diagnosis, repair, refurbishment, and testing of returned lithium battery systems.
- Troubleshoot complex battery, BMS, charger, communication, and electrical system issues.
- Assist technicians with advanced diagnostics and escalated repair cases.
- Ensure all repaired products meet company quality and safety standards before being returned to customers.
- Analyze battery failures and identify root causes of recurring issues.
- Document findings and communicate recommendations to Engineering, Product Development, and Quality teams.
- Track failure trends and work cross-functionally to implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Develop repair procedures and testing methods to improve repair effectiveness and product reliability.
- Evaluate warranty claims and determine repair, replacement, or refurbishment eligibility.
- Monitor warranty expenses and identify opportunities to reduce costs through improved repair processes and product improvements.
- Improve repair success rates while minimizing unnecessary product replacements.
- Ensure proper documentation of repairs and warranty decisions.
- Develop and maintain repair standards, work instructions, and testing procedures.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of repair parts and monitor department KPIs to increase efficiency and repair quality.
- Implement improvements to increase efficiency and repair quality.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures related to lithium battery handling, storage, and repair.
- Manage repair equipment, testing tools, and diagnostic systems.
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Warehouse teams to ensure parts availability and minimize downtime.
- Track and report key department metrics including:
- Repair turnaround time
- First-pass repair success rate
- Technician productivity
- Warranty cost reduction
- Failure trends and root causes
- Repair department throughput
- Provide regular reports and recommendations to leadership.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, Electronics, Automotive Technology, Electrical Systems, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in battery repair, electronics repair, automotive diagnostics, or related technical fields.
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience working with lithium battery systems preferred.
- Strong understanding of lithium battery construction, operation, and safety.
- Knowledge of Battery Management Systems (BMS), electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience using multimeters, battery analyzers, and diagnostic equipment.
- Understanding of root cause analysis methodologies and quality systems.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
