Warrant Officer Wheeled Vehicles/Recovery Maintenance Instructor

Place of Performance Work will be performed on-site in classrooms, offices, buildings, warehouses, and designated training areas at: Fort Lee, VirginiaFort Walker, Virginia Performance at Fort Walker may be required to support training requirements that cannot be accomplished at Fort Lee. All training and instruction will be delivered in person and on-site. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Warrant Officer Wheeled Vehicles/Recovery Maintenance Instructor to provide classroom, laboratory, simulator, and field-based instruction to U.S. Army students. The instructor will teach Professional Military Education and MOS-specific technical and tactical course content at the Warrant Officer, Advanced Leader Course, and Senior Leader Course levels, as applicable. The position requires extensive experience with wheeled, tracked, Stryker, and recovery platforms; vehicle diagnostics and maintenance; electrical and electronic systems; and H8/H9 recovery operations. Instructors must be capable of working independently with minimal guidance and conducting demanding outdoor recovery training under extreme environmental conditions. Personnel assigned to this position are considered fully interchangeable. Any instructor who meets the combined qualifications may be cross-utilized to teach Wheeled Vehicles and Recovery Systems curricula as operational requirements dictate. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Deliver classroom, laboratory, simulator, and hands-on field instruction for Wheeled Vehicles and Recovery Systems curricula.Instruct students at the Warrant Officer, ALC, and SLC levels for the MOSs in which the instructor is qualified.Teach vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, recovery operations, and related technical and tactical subjects.Instruct students in electrical schematic tracing, Controller Area Network bus principles, electronic control module logic, engine systems, and transmission systems.Conduct technical and tactical training involving wheeled, tracked, Stryker, and recovery platforms.Lead rigorous outdoor H8/H9 recovery training.Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults involving training equipment, simulators, and trainers.Develop, review, and update course materials, training aids, manuals, and instructional products when assigned.Apply current Army regulations and doctrine governing MOS-, ASI-, Noncommissioned Officer-, and Warrant Officer-specific training.Use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other required training tools.Evaluate student performance through written and hands-on testing.Maintain all required MOS, ASI, technical, tactical, and instructor certifications.Perform duties independently with minimal guidance. Required Military Background Candidates Must Have at least four years of prior military service and have been honorably discharged, or currently serve as a National Guard or U.S. Army Reserve Warrant Officer or Senior Noncommissioned Officer.Have served at the grade of Sergeant/E-5 or above.Have completed and be able to document completion of the Advanced Leader Course and Senior Leader Course in the MOS being instructed, or the Warrant Officer Basic Course associated with a feeder MOS for that career field.Be qualified to instruct at the ALC and SLC levels for the applicable MOS. Before beginning performance, candidates must be certified in the applicable MOS or feeder MOS and possess any required ASI-specific technical training, including H8 or H9 when required for the assigned course. Required Technical And Tactical Experience Candidates must possess: At least three years of technical experience and three years of tactical experience in the MOS or feeder MOS for which instruction will be provided, unless otherwise specified.At least three years of hands-on technical and tactical experience involving wheeled, tracked, Stryker, and recovery platforms.At least three years of technical and tactical experience updating tracked-vehicle software using Maintenance Support Device V2, V3, and V4, when available.Experience with H8/H9 recovery operations.Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicle systems, training equipment, simulators, and trainers.
