Warehouse Worker/Yard Jockey Operator

About the role
The Warehouse / Yard Jockey Operator is responsible for safely moving trailers throughout the facility yard, coordinating trailer changes with production, operating a forklift, and supporting warehouse operations. This role is critical to maintaining the flow of finished product by ensuring empty trailers are positioned promptly and full trailers are removed efficiently. The ideal candidate has experience backing and maneuvering tractor trailers, working independently, and operating forklifts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely move and position 53-foot trailers at dock doors and designated yard locations.
- Coordinate with production and warehouse personnel to ensure empty trailers are available as needed.
- Pull full trailers from loading docks and replace them with empty trailers throughout the shift.
- Manage trailer movement for approximately 8-10 trailers per day.
- Check in and direct truck drivers arriving at the facility.
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift.
- Stage, organize, and transport finished goods and materials throughout the warehouse.
- Ensure trailers are properly positioned, secured, and ready for shipment.
- Perform inventory transactions, complete shipping paperwork, and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.
- Follow all company safety policies, GMPs, and operational procedures.
- Assist with other warehouse and logistics duties as assigned.
- Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Experience backing, maneuvering, and positioning 53-foot trailers.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform basic paperwork and shipping documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Yard Jockey, Yard Spotter, Dock Worker, Warehouse Associate, or CDL Driver experience.
- OSHA Forklift Certification.
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- CDL is not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb in and out of yard trucks and forklifts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and yard-moving equipment throughout the shift.

Schedule
B Shift, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (12-hour day shift rotating schedule so every other weekend you have off)
