Penske Logistics is looking for a Forklift Operator to join an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for safety-conscious individuals with a pleasant and outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment.

About the role

Friday to Sunday, 9:00 AM – 9:30 PM

$19.00 base rate + $2.00 shift differential

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trailers with a stand-up clamp-operator forklift
  • Move large products within the warehouse
  • Comply with all safety requirements
  • Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
  • Communicate with associates from other shifts
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
  • Record numbers of units handled and moved using daily production sheets or work tickets
  • Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line
  • Operate forklifts and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • No prior forklift or warehouse experience required, but preferred
  • Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions
  • Ability to work independently, customer service, multi-tasking, organizational, flexibility, and time management skills
  • Flexible to work overtime preferred
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to work the required schedule and at the specific location
  • Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening
  • This position is designated as safety-sensitive; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required
  • Ability to accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remember and understand instructions, guidelines, or other information
  • Must be able to see and verbally communicate
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • While performing duties, the associate will frequently move, stand, walk, and sit
  • Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
