Penske Logistics is looking for a Forklift Operator to join an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for safety-conscious individuals with a pleasant and outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment.
About the role
Friday to Sunday, 9:00 AM – 9:30 PM
$19.00 base rate + $2.00 shift differential
Responsibilities
- Load and unload trailers with a stand-up clamp-operator forklift
- Move large products within the warehouse
- Comply with all safety requirements
- Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
- Communicate with associates from other shifts
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
- Record numbers of units handled and moved using daily production sheets or work tickets
- Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line
- Operate forklifts and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- No prior forklift or warehouse experience required, but preferred
- Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions
- Ability to work independently, customer service, multi-tasking, organizational, flexibility, and time management skills
- Flexible to work overtime preferred
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Willingness to work the required schedule and at the specific location
- Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening
- This position is designated as safety-sensitive; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required
- Ability to accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remember and understand instructions, guidelines, or other information
- Must be able to see and verbally communicate
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- While performing duties, the associate will frequently move, stand, walk, and sit
- Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
