About the Role

We are hiring an operator for our Daniels’ medical waste treatment facility in Walton, KY. A Plant Operator has a widely varying role, from checking in containers, double-checking paperwork, moving/unloading specific waste containers, and operating a forklift to load an autoclave.

Responsibilities

  • Lifting 55lb bins and pushing four-wheeled carts weighing up to 200lbs
  • Weighing incoming sharps and medical waste containers
  • Loading and operating an autoclave machine (a pressure chamber to melt materials)
  • Loading the Washsmart system (container washing and sanitization system)
  • Providing attention to detail with required paperwork for processing containers
  • Standing for extended periods comfortably
  • Working well within a team environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or labor-intensive job (repetitive lifting of 50–75lb containers)
  • Willingness to undergo a 5-panel urine drug screening
  • Willingness to undergo a 7-year background check
  • Basic math skills and ability to read/record weights accurately
  • Familiarity with weighbridge/scale systems
  • Comfort with repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in PPE
  • Proven longevity with previous employers
  • Can-do attitude
