About the role
The Warehouse Technician is responsible for receiving, shipping, storing, and tracking equipment/materials kept in Betacom Warehouses. Essential duties include loading and unloading equipment/materials, maintaining accurate records, ensuring proper tagging and returning of customer components, and assisting with product assembly.
Responsibilities
- Loads and/or unloads equipment/materials while it is being received or when it is being shipped.
- Records materials and/or equipment entering and leaving the warehouse.
- Confirms that orders are accurate.
- Sets up material order forms to keep stock at predetermined levels.
- Sets up warehouse order forms to keep warehouse supply stock up to predetermined levels.
- Keeps the warehouse, yard, parking lot, and surrounding area clear of trash and debris.
- Pick up equipment/materials from customer locations.
- Ensures spares and/or bad customer components are tagged properly and returned to customer within required timeframe.
- Pick up/deliver equipment/materials to other Betacom warehouse locations.
- Ensures yard dumpsters are unloaded and brought back to property in a timely manner.
- Aids field crews with material readiness for their scheduled assignments.
- Assists with product assembly, as needed.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Great Plains experience (Preferred).
- Self-motivated and able to learn quickly.
- Capable of operating forklift and hand operated pallet jack.
- Able to obtain forklift certification within 90 days of employment.
- Good record-keeping skills and detail-oriented.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Able to drive Box Truck.
- Minimum 1 year of warehouse operations experience.
- Clean Driving Record & Valid Driver's License (a must).
- Class A or B CDL license (preferred).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Physical Demands: Regularly stands, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reaches with hands and arms; climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; talks or hears. Walks much of the time. Sits occasionally. Lifts and/or moves up to 75 pounds frequently, up to 100 pounds occasionally, and more than 100 pounds occasionally.
- Work Environment: Regularly works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions. Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
