About the role

The Warehouse Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and accurate handling of Durable Medical Equipment. This role is instrumental in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment to support the seamless delivery of products, managing inventory, and preparing orders.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments; update inventory levels and ensure accurate stock counts and documentation.
  • Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, stock shelves, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications and company standards.
  • Quality Control: Conduct routine inspections of products to ensure they meet quality standards; address and report any discrepancies or damages.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment; adhere to safety protocols and ensure all equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately document inventory movements, shipments, and other warehouse activities.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with warehouse staff and other departments to coordinate activities and resolve any issues.
  • Equipment Handling: Conduct repairs, cleaning, and complex assembly of Durable Medical Equipment as needed.
  • Staging and Loading: Stage equipment for delivery, assist with loading and unloading customer vehicles, and ensure adherence to route schedules.
  • Equipment Preparation: Assemble and test new and rental equipment before delivery as required.
  • Delivery Support: Perform or assist with deliveries and pickups, demonstrating proper operation of equipment when needed.
  • Safety Awareness: Maintain safety considerations in the warehouse, including the use of forklifts, ladders, and proper handling of heavy equipment.
  • Showroom Maintenance: Clean and stock the showroom, apply price tags to items, and manage showroom appearance if applicable.
  • Facility Upkeep: Perform basic building maintenance and keep sidewalks and entrances clear of snow, ice, or debris.
  • Additional Duties: Carry out other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or inventory management role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and basic computer applications.
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record required.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification may be required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling and documenting inventory.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to move about the branch, and use equipment described above and below.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to use repetitive motions with hands, arms, legs, neck, etc.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility.
  • Hearing, seeing, and talking are required for this position.
  • Able to work in various weather conditions, including exposure to noise, temperature changes, and physical activity.
