About the role
The Warehouse Technician position at nVent is designed for individuals who can thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of the distribution center by accurately picking orders, handling shipments, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily 5S tasks to maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Adhere to safety policies and meet productivity standards
- Follow standard work procedures for picking, receiving, and auditing/packing orders
- Participate in the Continuous Improvement Program by suggesting ways to enhance safety, quality, on-time delivery, or cost performance
- Exchange information with co-workers and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Operate motorized equipment safely and continuously use a smart phone device during shifts
- Lift and move items as needed, including lifting up to 60 lbs occasionally
- Work on feet for extended periods and perform bending and twisting as required
- Volunteer for and complete mandatory overtime as needed
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Able to accurately match visual information on a smart phone device with product labels
- Capable of counting products accurately on every pick
- Strong addition and multiplication skills
- Able to communicate effectively with co-workers
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors
- Able to operate motorized equipment safely
- Able to understand and comply with all safety policies
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs repeatedly
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to bend 90 degrees and twist 45 degrees
