Warehouse Technician - 1st Shift

About the role

The Warehouse Technician position at nVent is designed for individuals who can thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of the distribution center by accurately picking orders, handling shipments, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily 5S tasks to maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Adhere to safety policies and meet productivity standards
• Follow standard work procedures for picking, receiving, and auditing/packing orders
• Participate in the Continuous Improvement Program by suggesting ways to enhance safety, quality, on-time delivery, or cost performance
• Exchange information with co-workers and work collaboratively as part of a team
• Operate motorized equipment safely and continuously use a smart phone device during shifts
• Lift and move items as needed, including lifting up to 60 lbs occasionally
• Work on feet for extended periods and perform bending and twisting as required
• Volunteer for and complete mandatory overtime as needed

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Able to accurately match visual information on a smart phone device with product labels
• Capable of counting products accurately on every pick
• Strong addition and multiplication skills
• Able to communicate effectively with co-workers
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors
• Able to operate motorized equipment safely
• Able to understand and comply with all safety policies

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs repeatedly
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to bend 90 degrees and twist 45 degrees
