About the role

A typical Profit Center is the heart of our business and consists of a warehouse, counter, sales office, and (sometimes) a showroom. McDonald Supply is one of those trade names and is looking for a Warehouse Teammate/Non CDL Delivery Driver at their Dubuque, IA location.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stock and maintain the warehouse; and pick, document, and pack customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
  • Act with a high attention to detail to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Handle all shipping discrepancies per procedures or forward appropriate paperwork to designated employee to handle.
  • Identify nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and store in proper warehouse locations.
  • Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
  • Load and unload trucks, operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Inform immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels.
  • Ensure security and controls are in place and upheld to protect Profit Center assets.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety.
  • Remove empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris.
  • Inform immediate supervisor of safety issues.
  • Aid co-workers in servicing customers.
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with the company's Safety Standards.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

Requirements

  • 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
  • Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred

  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers
  • Knowledge of, ability to apply, and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment
  • Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center
  • Ability to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for warehouse operations
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
