Position Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse including staffing and assigned duties of all personnel are completed on a daily basis in a timely and safe manner.
- Review and approve hours worked and PTO using Kronos.
- Responsible for building and maintaining morale in the warehouse by demonstrating leadership qualities and setting an example for staff, promoting teamwork both within the branch and local team.
- Develop employee’s skills and knowledge with proper training and guidance and assist them at reaching their full potential.
- Stay current with part number and line codes.
- Conduct cycle counts and keep dead stock at a minimum.
- Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock.
- Process and document transactions and reports timely and accurately. (cycle counts, inventory, driver records, safety incidents, damaged product, etc.)
- Ensure the safe use of warehouse equipment and employees are completing pre and post shift forklift and truck inspections as well as reporting any concerns.
- Maintain equipment and fix or replace malfunctioning equipment/trucks.
- Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve efficient warehouse operations.
- Communicate with other departments to ensure timely and safe shipment of products.
- Maintain working knowledge/understanding of company policies and procedures and employee handbook policies.
- Consult with Management and Human Resources for clarification as well as employee Identify and implement continuous improvement processes.
- Keep up-to-date on the latest federal and state safety regulations.
- Absorb and process material handling at warehouse including lifting.
- May operate hand and power equipment for material handling to accommodate storage of products throughout warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership, coaching / mentoring, employee development and performance management skills.
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse/inventory management.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to effectively delegate tasks.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with ability to apply sound judgment.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook & Excel, Mincron and a Scanner.
- Proven customer service experience with high level of customer satisfaction; and positive relationship management skills.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift with a valid forklift operators certification – internal certification as well as train and certify warehouse associates and drivers.
- Ability to keep the warehouse organized, well stocked and free from any safety or security hazards.
- Ability to perform duties in a safe manner as well as follow safety protocols and regulations.
- Experience 5 years in a warehouse or shipping environment.
- 5 plus years in a leadership role.
