Warehouse Supervisor - Receiving

About the role

S&S Activewear is seeking a Shipping Department Supervisor to provide support to the Shipping Department Manager and Operations Manager. They will also provide direct interaction with all team members involved in shipping orders, provide assistance and guidance to employees on issues related to the shipping department. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for managing the end of the day cleaning duties, coaching employees, conducting team kick-off meetings, preparing daily attendance and performance reports, monitoring orders screens daily, monitoring employees' breaks, trouble shooting and resolving issues related to the shipping process, performing annual performance evaluations, providing leadership to all department employees, conducting employee kick-off meetings, verifying and enforcing compliance of the SOP’s, preparing and hosting kick-off meetings, monitoring work flow and adjusting practices as required to ensure quality and timely shipment of orders, acting professionally and remaining focused while working, safely operating all warehouse equipment, attending meetings as assigned, and providing additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily attendance and performance employees’ report.
• Conduct team kick off meetings.
• Maintain order screen daily.
• Monitor employees breaks.
• Responsible for accident investigation reports.
• Resolve issues related to the shipping process.
• Think on feet and make operational decisions to achieve shipping cut-offs.
• Perform annual performance evaluations.
• Provide leadership to all department employees.
• Conduct employee kick-off meetings.
• Verify and enforce compliance of the SOP’s.
• Prepare and host kick-off meetings.
• Monitor work flow and adjust practices as required to ensure quality and timely shipment of orders.
• Act professionally and remain focused while working.
• Safely operate all warehouse equipment.

• Attend meetings as assigned.
• Provide additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Supervisor experience of 2 years in a team-oriented workplace, preferred.
• Good interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
• Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to communicate and explain processes effectively
• Ability to coach and develop team members to achieve company goals
• Excellent organizational management skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime when needed

• Protective Equipment Required
• Must be able to wear proper safety equipment (safety toe shoes, bump caps and safety vest).

Benefits

Compensation & Schedule: Salaried (based on experience), Monday - Friday (first shift), Full-Time, Exempt.

The position is full-time and exempt.

Physical Demands

The job will be divided between office time and floor presence which may include standing and walking for 4+ hours per day. Additionally, the position will require the operations of a stock chaser to move throughout the warehouse. Moderate hand-eye coordination, near vision, far vision, and hearing is required.

Working Environment

The job will be performed entirely in the warehouse where conditions can range from warm to cool. The job will be performed around warehouse machines and equipment with a moderate level of noise.
