Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and implement continuous quality and cost improvements as it relates to distribution.
• Prepares work schedules, assigns work and oversees the work product.
• Establish metrics for on time delivery and accuracy.
• Develop and manage a cross functional Inventory Cycle Count Accuracy team.
• Ensure that there is cross training going on in the department.
• Coach and develop members of the department
• Set and communicate expectations for employees; monitor performance and give recognition when appropriate.
• Take corrective action when necessary.
• Recognize employees for performance which meets or exceeds objectives.
• Utilize quality management techniques for problem solving, corrective action and process decisions.
• Research, justify, procure and implement new technology to maximize department effectiveness and profitability.
• Work in conjunction with the Demand Planning and Fulfillment Manager to establish annual goals and objectives for the department to achieve (annually) in alignment with company strategic goals.
• Responsible for assisting in the development of policies with respect to production management.
• Work cooperatively with other departments in addition to influencing decisions and outcomes that result in solid business practices for the company.
• Establish and maintain department budgets including capital improvements.
• Work as a team with Production supervision to improve overall operational performance.
• Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in technical or business-related area is required.
• Experience: Minimum five years of experience in manufacturing environment specifically in shipping/receiving and stock room setting.
• Experience with SAP or another ERP system.
• CPIM Logistics and Export compliance knowledge.
• 5S experience.
