About the Role

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of shipping, receiving, and warehouse team member development to optimize productivity, implement systems, coordinate transportation, and fulfill customer orders.

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees day-to-day shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, transportation coordination, inventory control, and team member development for the Richmond, VA production site. This role ensures warehouse layout, flow, and processes are optimized for efficiency while maintaining SQF/GMP standards, enforcing safety policies, supporting accurate inventory transactions, and helping remove barriers to perfect customer order fulfillment.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor works cross-functionally with Production, Transportation, Inventory Control, and other Supply Chain and Operations teams to identify constraints, reduce waste, improve throughput, coordinate inbound and outbound loads, maintain local fleet documentation, and support factory operations and customer fill rate. The successful candidate will lead with a servant-leader mindset, promote a customer-centric and safety-focused culture, execute assigned projects and initiatives, and support the Sauer Brands Purpose and Values.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations for the Richmond, VA production site, including shipping, receiving, storage, material movement, and warehouse team activities.
  • Optimize warehouse layout, flow, and processes to support manufacturing goals, improve productivity, and maintain efficient movement of materials and finished goods.
  • Ensure compliance with SQF/GMP requirements, inventory storage standards, DOT documentation requirements, and all Sauer Brands safety policies and procedures.
  • Support customer order fulfillment by implementing effective warehouse practices, removing barriers to perfect order fulfillment, and maintaining outbound throughput through tools such as the Dock Scheduler.
  • Manage inventory control activities, including accurate transactions, cycle counting initiatives, physical inventory events, KPI performance, and lean inventory practices.
  • Coordinate with Transportation, Production, Inventory Control, and Supply Chain/Operations teams to schedule loads, resolve discrepancies, mitigate constraints, maintain the local fleet, and reduce customer impact.
  • Identify cost savings and operational improvement opportunities while leading, coaching, and developing warehouse team members with a servant-leader mindset and a customer-centric, safety-focused culture.

Requirements

  • College degree required; degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of warehousing experience preferred, with proven management and/or supervisory experience.
  • Strong warehouse management acumen with the ability to support efficient warehouse operations, inventory control, material flow, and customer order fulfillment.
  • Experience with ERP systems required; Oracle/PeopleSoft experience preferred.
  • Experience with transportation management systems and warehouse management systems preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under time constraints, prioritize competing responsibilities, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced warehouse and production environment.
  • Documented history of process improvement, references required.
